Loren or "Loren plays violin" is Nashville's Original Black Violinist, blending her deep love for the instrument with a unique fusion of Jazz, R&B, and other genres upon request. Loren picked up the violin at the age of 10 and hasn't put it down since 2014, finding in it a true passion and a sense of "home." Trained classically and having played in orchestras, she has since expanded her repertoire, performing at prestigious events like the TMEA at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and winning Best Orchestra in the Spotlight Awards. Loren also enjoyed two years with Nashville State's Jazz Ensemble, which further broadened her musical horizons.
Her talents have seen her perform alongside Grammy-winning artists, Demola the Violinist and Belmont University's Rhose Studio Strings, and share stages with bandmates of BB King, Roy Orbison, and Lil Milton. Loren has also been featured multiple times on Nashville News Channels 4 and 5, further cementing her status as a standout musician in the city.
Loren's love for the violin extends beyond performance; she sees it as a medium for expression, much like her other creative passions, such as drawing, painting, and sewing. For her, playing the violin is not just a profession but a way to share joy and evoke emotion in others.
Her performances have graced a variety of venues, including Nashville International Airport (BNA), City Winery, Tootsie's World Famous Orchid Lounge, The Nashville Black Market, and the National African American Museum of Music, among many others. Loren has also played for influential organizations like Habitat for Humanity of Greater Nashville, the Tennessee Black Caucus of State Legislators, and the Metro Nashville Airport Authority.
